Upper School Science Curriculum
Three years of Upper School science are required for graduation, with each year providing a foundation for the next. All students take a physics to chemistry to biology sequence. Ninth graders study the foundations of conceptual physics in a non-math intensive way, which enables them to gain a better understanding of complex physics concepts. Physics also serves as the ideal foundation to help students learn the more abstract aspects of for high school chemistry. Likewise, a knowledge of chemistry enables students to pursue a more sophisticated study of biology. Seniors may take one of several science electives for a fourth year. Possibilities include anatomy & physiology, environmental science and robotics.
